Breeze Airways, a new budget airline from the founder of JetBlue, is getting ready to launch flights to New York and South Florida as low as $39 one way.
The carrier is set to add service to Islip, New York's Long Island MacArthur Airport and Florida's Palm Beach International Airport in mid-February. These will be the first market additions since the company's debut in May.
"Breeze's business model is to add nice, new nonstop flights on routes where only connecting service is offered by other carriers," CEO David Neeleman said in a Monday news release. "We're excited to introduce Breeze service to South Florida and the New York area, and look forward to adding more routes from both Palm Beach and Islip."
Breeze Airway's eight new routes to New York, Florida
The eight new roundtrip routes and their one-way starting prices include:
► Starting Feb. 17: Long Island and Norfolk, Virginia on Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays and Mondays starting at $39
► Starting Feb. 18: Long Island and Charleston, South Carolina Fridays and Mondays starting at $39
► Starting Feb. 19: Palm Beach to Charleston, South Carolina and New Orleans, Louisiana on Saturdays starting at $39
► Starting Feb. 19: Palm Beach to Akron/Canton, Ohio; Columbus, Ohio; Norfolk, Virginia; and Richmond, Virginia on Saturdays starting at $59
